Come learn the age-old technique of Viking knitting and walk away with your own finished stitch marker charm bracelet. Viking knitting is done by looping wire around a dowel and then pulling the wire tube created through a draw plate to condense the tube down to the desired thinness. The finished piece resembles the look of knitting. In this class we will explore a brief history of the craft, the tools needed, and the many possibilities of creating beautiful jewelry with this fun technique. Then we will get down to business making a single knit bracelet with one stitch marker charm. You will be able to add more of your favorite stitch markers or you can purchase a few from the shop that will match your new bracelet. Level of student experience required: none
If you are going on the Alaska Cruise this summer, this is a GREAT class to take now!!! As we visit yarn shops during the cruise, you will be able to collect free charms (that happen to be stitch markers) to add to your charm bracelet!!!
