New Colors of Ciao

Ciao is a super fine Merino that is amazing for kid knits and accessories for people of all ages! The color pallet is so fresh and the colors work together so nicely,  which lends the yarn to be especially great for colorwork! We put together a bundle over on Ravelry that includes lots of DK weight colorwork hats that are just screaming to be knit with this yarn! https://www.ravelry.com/bundles/dk-all-the-way You can order Ciao in-shop or on-line! https://www.alittleknitty.com/shop/Yarn/DK-Weight-Yarn/p/Jody-Long---Ciao-x42668503.htm Jen

SOCKS!!!

When HUGE box of finished socks arrived at my house, I ripped open the box and put on a pair immediately...I mean, I had to do research, right?? The weather has turned chilly in our house, and these socks are so soft and cozy. In my opinion, they run a little big. These finished socks make great gifts for friends, or yourself!! You can get your socks here: https://www.alittleknitty.com/shop/Random-Awesome-Things/p/Finished-Socks-x53068317.htm or in shop!

Pattern Highlight

Allison, one of our teachers, came in a couples weeks ago and picked up 4 skeins of Sugarplum Circus Yarn and I was SHOCKED when she came in this last weekend to do a little show and tell!! This shawl is just gorgeous and so soft, squishy and HUGE!!!! If you would like to make your own...the pattern is called Painting Bricks Shawl by Stephen West and can be found here:  https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/painting-bricks-shawl

Micki Wells Creations

Micki has restocked as well...and she was feeling the Halloween spirit too!!! Her beautifully handcrafted woodwork is perfect for decorating your home....and she added some non-Halloweenie things too!! If you are seeking a personalized gift, you can contact her directly and she can dream it up!!

New Consignor - Sharon

It is looking very HALLOWEEN-IE in here!!! We have our newest Consignor, Sharon who has added a pumpkin patch of fabric pumpkins for you to choose from...and most of her items are under $6. I know this year doesn't feel super festive (as everything feels canceled) but having fun decor seems to be helping me get in the spirit!! Her items are only available in shop...stop in and check them out!

Teal Torch Trunk Show

We REALLY miss having a trunk show during the yarn crawl...so we asked Teal Torch Knits to box up some of her favorite colors and ship them to us for the remainder of the crawl. This package is going to be one big box of happy!!!!! We will have these in shop AND online...as soon as they arrive! Jen

Finished Object - Travelers Shawl

I recently finished the Traveler's Shawl after a family trip to Bellingham. I figured it was fitting to bring something called the Traveler's Shawl on a mini-vacation!! This shawl is two colors (you want a high contrast!!) and technically it is garter stitch...but to create the micro striping that gives you the tweed look, you work 1 row of your main color then immediately work 1 row of your contrast color before turning and working the backside of your work...pretty crazy right? It's a super fun knit and has enough going on to keep your attention. I used Zen Yarn Garden in Kyanite and Terra Cotta (we are out of the Terra Cotta but will get more in stock!) Jen

A 2020/2021 Trend?

I'm not so sure they are a trend for the year...but I know I have been falling in love with a lot of the beret/slouch hats I have found on Ravelry and I've noticed an uptick in the number of requests for yarn to make berets....sooooooo....my prediction is that berets are the hat to knit/crochet this winter!!! Smocked Slouch Hat Caramel Slouch by Tin Can Knits We recommend knitting either of these hats in a solid color of Rios by Malabrigo Sitka Spruce by Tin Can Knits Crochet Wave Stitch Beret We recommend working these with a semi-solid color of Worsted or Washted by Malabrigo Jen

Woolly Wormhead Hats

One of my favorite hats ever is the Toph hat by Woolly Wormhead. Years ago a customer brought this hat to my attention and a few of us knit it. The hat became such a hit that it became one of our best selling classes (and I cannot WAIT to teach it again!!!!) https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/toph-2 That same customer sent me a message recently with a new photo and I fell in love once again. Woolly Wormhead knows how to design amazing hats. I would love to see her creative process, she comes up with the most interesting creations.  She recently released an eBook with her 5 newest designs.  Imperceptions is a collection of Hats that uses unconventional stranded colourwork to create the illusion of manipulated fabric. With carefully placed colour and simple stitches, Imperceptions creates the impression of depth and movement on a flat surface, mimicking the complexities of construction techniques without altering a single stitch. Each Hat in the Imperceptions collection is knitted
