Finished Object - Shawlography

I don't think I have EVER been so excited about finishing something! This project was pure persistence and determination!!! This is the Shawlography which was the Stephen West Knit-a-long that began in October. Here is his for a better pic! Sure, this isn't a knit I would usually choose...but I'm SOOOOOOOO glad I did it! I learned a lot and it really got my knitting mojo going!! This would be a great way to use up bits of fingering yarn you have laying around (you don't need 5 full skeins!) I also loved using yarns by Heather Ellis, Rainier Roses, Jadawoo, and one stash yarn (the white...who knows where it came from!!!) If you want to read more about the pattern....you can do so HERE

Public Service Announcement

I have a little blog post about something that has NOTHING to do with yarn (ya, I'm shocked too!)  Recently I have attended a few city meetings where we discussed the homeless and drug crisis not only here, but everywhere! We have an amazing advocate for the homeless who works for our city. He has spoken with us on what we can do to help the situation...and it's completely counterintuitive to what you would think. I care passionately about the humans in our community. With the help of Jo (who made the masks) and our community (who bought the masks) we have donated thousands to local food banks over the last 18 months!!! But the important thing here is to support charities who help those in need. Please do not give any money or food to the homeless, it actually hurts them! We have a gentleman who has been living in B street plaza for weeks now. He is kind and harmless, but he is out in this insanely wet and cold weather...because he makes money doing so. He has been offered help
