   Welcome this miniature pair of gnomes into your home! They are knit using sock yarn scraps and stuffed with a wine cork instead of stuffing. The skills to make them include knitting and purling in the round, decreasing stitches, and I-cord knitting. The instructor will also show you how to knit with double point needles or circular magic loop method if you need help with this. In class you will make a girl and a boy gnome and get the supplies to make a third gnome of your choice. They can stand on a shelf or be made into ornaments. These little guys/gals are fun to make and gift to others who are crazy about gnomes. Finished size is about 2” excluding the hat. Materials provided by instructor are: wine corks, sock yarn scraps, yarn for hair and noses, locks for beards, and pattern. No materials fee. Additional kits will be available for a small fee. Materials for student to bring: size 1.5 mm double point needles or 24” circular needles (if you prefer using the magic loop technique)

Deck the Halls with Handknit Christmas Balls! In this class we will be knitting with two colors (stranded knitting) creating a Christmas motif while shaping a ball. The skills we will cover are stranded knitting, knitting in the round with double pointed needles or one long circular needle for magic loop, increases and decreases, i-cord and reading a colorwork chart for a four-sided item. After completing your first ball, you are ready to knit more balls with other motifs. Materials Provided:  Pattern, Stuffing, Red & White Worsted Weight Wool Yarn (enough for 2 Christmas balls). Materials Needed:  Five US-7 double pointed needles or one long circular needle for magic loop knitting, 4 stitch markers, long tapestry needle.
