I was shopping at Trader Joe's over the weekend and picked up, well..Pumpkin everything.
I'm one of those people who loves everything pumpkin and so I'm a sucker for anything flavored with it. As I was filling my cart I realized how quickly these special items would be swept off the floor to make room for all of the Christmas specialties.
Believe it or not, Christmas is just around the corner. Maybe like me you are starting to think about who is on your "nice list" and who you might want to make something for. As I looked around the shop the next day, I realized that A Little Knitty is stocked with some great kits that make the gifting process so easy.
Of course you can buy the kit for your favorite knitter or crocheter but even better is to buy the kit and make it for them. I love kits because they contain everything I need except the needles. I don't have to pick a pattern or the yarn. It is done for me and a beautiful finished product is a slam dunk if I follow the directions. Here are a few kits that I particularly like that we have out on the floor.
First up is, of course, a pumpkin kit🙂 that would be perfect to make for yourself or for a friend before Fall disappears. The kit is beautifully boxed up and created by Cozy Craft Coven and includes yarn, stuffing, a darning needle and an instruction booklet. The finished pumpkin measures 4" x 2", a nice size for a table decoration or for a sweet hostess gift. There are three kits: "Knit Your Own Garter Pumpkin", "Knit Your Own Pumpkin" and "Knit Your Own Cabled Pumpkin" and they are $25.00 each and available in-store only.
Next up is "Maize Mitts Kit". This is a fingerless mitts kit that includes the pattern, by Tin Can Knits, and the yarn, by Katia called Concept. I love the deep blue with threads of color in this soft Cotton and wool yarn. This worsted yarn is the perfect weight for these mitts which are knit in the round from cuff to fingertips. I love that the pattern includes sizes ranging from toddler to adult large. The kit is very affordable at $14.00. You can find this kit in-store or online HERE
Another affordable beautiful knit kit is "Cozy Up Cowl" and was designed by our own Jen Reeves at A Little Knitty! Jen chose the yarn, "Alpaca Ligera" by Hikoo for this Cowl Kit. It is a soft and lofty yarn that is 100% baby alpaca and comes in a variety of beautiful earthy tones. The kit includes pattern, yarn and buttons. This is a quick knit that will feel wonderful around a special someone's neck. The kit is $15.00 and is available in six colors. You can find this kit in-store or online HERE
Now for some kits for you crocheters...
Both of these are A Little Knitty kits designed by Jen Reeves. The first one is "Crochet Basket with Wood Base". This kit is $25.00 and includes pattern, yarn and wood base for your basket. The recycled cotton blend yarn is a rainbow of 10 bright colors in worsted weight. This is a fun project that involves crocheting in and out of the holes around the basket base. The end result is a sweet basket that can sit anywhere and hold your treasures. You can find this kit in-store or online HERE. And if you have been waiting for the individual basket bottoms to be back in stock...they are in-store only!!
The other kit is "Plant Hanger/Cup Cozy Kit". This kit includes two patterns in one. You start by making a cozy to sit on the counter and hold a plant or your beverage. With the simple addition of crocheted chains you can turn your cozy into a hanging plant cozy. This kit includes a printed and free digital download pattern and two balls of Yarnalia Fluffy yarn in colors pumpkin pie and Snow as well as a darling stitch marker. Jen says you can make four of these cuties with the two balls of yarn!! This kit sells for $15.00. I think it's about time I made one of these for myself since I am constantly borrowing Jen's cozy for my cold drink. This one is only available in-store but we are working on getting it online!
I hope these kits inspire you to come in and pick out a kit for a gift.
