Finally after a hot summer we are starting to get some cooler days. My favorites are the ones that start out cold and overcast and slowly the sun decides to show up in the late afternoon. In my book this is perfect sleeping weather! Even though I love wearing shorts and sandals my sweaters and shawls are calling and I'm excited about starting some Fall projects. As I look around the shop there are some wonderful yarns to choose from. Here are a few that caught my eye.

First one is Bloom Tweed Worsted by Sea Change Fibers. This is a perfect Fall yarn with its rich color tones and flecks of colored tweed sprinkled throughout every skein.
Jen designed and knit up a sweet hat with this yarn that she calls, "Heather Hat". I love the open weave reminding me of trees or vines growing up the sides. This is a perfect weight hat for chilly autumn days that haven't turned blustery yet. The pattern is free with the purchase of yarn.
I also like "Hum Beanie" by Erin Gates. She named it this because the design, with right twisted stitches, reminded her of hummingbird wings. It looks like cables and would show off the tweed yarn beautifully. It is $7.00 on Ravelry.
My two favorite colors in Sea Change Fibers are Stormy Seas, a rich jade blue, and Ursula, which is a rich shade of purple just like the Disney character it's named after. This yarn is available in-store only...but if you would like it shipped just call us at 206.659.5987 and we can make it happen!!!
Another lovely Fall tweed yarn is Kathmandu DK 100 from the Queensland Collection. This also comes in a variety of shades with tweed highlights that are more subtle than the Bloom Tween Worsted.
Hilde made a stunning sweater with this yarn that is on display in the shop. The pattern is called LENU and is by Ankestrick and is about $8 on Ravelry. I love the cable down the front of the sweater and the gentle neckline and her 3/4 sleeve. Hilde made her sweater in a rich purple called, Magenta.
Last up is Woolstok Worsted by Blue Sky Fibers. We are all so excited to welcome Blue Sky Fibers to the shop. This Highland wool is so beautiful and also comes in a variety of colors. Jen ordered both 150g and 50g skeins which is perfect when you want to add some colorwork to a sweater but don't need alot of yarn. Even though her Sweater-a-Long, using this yarn, is sold out the pattern, "Easy Eyelet Yoke Sweater" is available on Ravelry by Knitatude/Chantal Miyagishima. This sweater looks great short or long sleeved. Come in and feel the lovely sweater sample Jen knit up. It is so soft..
I hope that these yarns begin to inspire you to celebrate Fall with a new project and "fall" in love with a new yarn!!
