Another Sponsor Opportu-knitty!!

First of all I LOVE a word that I can add -knitty too...like Opportu-KNITTY!!!! Yup, I'm a big dork!!! Over the last couple of months, I have been approached by two schools that are putting together a knitting group for kids (one of those groups already got their kits and a HUGE THANK YOU to those who sponsored!!!).  This time I structured it a little differently as this homeschool co-op didn't need as many kits... I have put together kits for these kids that include yarn for a hat, cotton for dishcloths, and knitting needles. To keep the program cost-effective for the homeschool co-op, we are asking our community to purchase these kits that we can then give to the kiddos. A Little Knitty will donate a project bag to each child and the kits have been priced at our cost to keep the price down for YOU the sponsor! Retail Value of each kit is $45 You can sponsor a kit by going HERE or come into the shop!!

New Inventory Alert! Cascade Anthem Chords & Anthem Rondo

I am OB.SESSED. with knitting a wavy blanket. Of course, this infatuation hits right at the hottest time of the year!!! At first I thought it was crochet, and decided to put the project on hold as I'm nursing a little case of tendonitis (although at this point I think it's just a permanent case of tendonitis!) but then I opened the pattern to discover it is KNIT!!!!!! My grandma knit a pattern just like it when I was little and I have her handwritten pattern....so I think this means it is all meant to be! I have been noticing more and more of these blankets on couches in the background of TV shows and movies. It's one of those things where you focus on something and start noticing it everywhere!!!! So, all this to say....I bought yarn for the shop because I went down a rabbit hole based on a blanket I really don't need to be knitting. THEN I found some variegated worsted and I have been receiving requests for that....so they jumped onto my order form too!  Let me introd

Price Changes

I have been putting it off as long as possible, but there are some price changes coming!!!! First, knitting needles, hooks and notions have been rising, but I have been absorbing most of the increases because they have been small. But they have now reached the point that I will have to raise them. This means that all current inventory on the floor will remain the lower cost. However, all new inventory will be priced at the new price. When you are purchasing knitting needles especially, check to see if there are a couple of the same size that you need, and look at the price on the back!! All online inventory will be valued at the higher price as there is no way to make this change per needle, however, if we pull an order for you and the needle is lower than what you paid, we will give you the credit.  On the horizon, all future Malabrigo orders will be more expensive per skein. The price change in the shop will begin September 1st!!  Other brands will be raising their prices, but I will

Hat Not Hate Unboxing

Where in the world is Hilde knitting

Hilde is in Norway now!! She visited a cousin of her dad's who lives on the most amazing piece of land. It's an old Norwegian farm that he's rebuilt. She didn't get a pic of her knitting...but you know knitting took place. How could you NOT knit in a magical place like this? This is an old church ruin. The church was built in the 1250s!! After the plague hit  the area, the whole town was decimated except for one farm and so the church fell to ruins. Right now they are staying at someone's ski chalet overlooking the Gubrandsdal valley. What a gorgeous view!! We miss Hilde so much...but it's fun to travel along with her! Where will we find her next?
