Years ago I found the Copilot Cowl by Dominique Trad on Ravelry and it had two of my ABSOLUTE favorite things...garter stitch and yarn overs! I cast one on for a trip I was taking and knit it while I was traveling. It was the perfect project to keep my attention, but I didn't need to take the pattern out constantly. After knitting one, I noticed that the length of it was just too long for my liking, I wanted it to be a simple, single-wrap cowl. I reworked it a little bit and it is my go-to when I have a skein of fingering weight yarn (especially if it is a singly-ply!!) Copilot Remix Materials: 1 skein 100g/440 fingering weight yarn (if your skein is a little more or a little less, no problem, I put in weights so you can use up all your yarn and not play yarn chicken!) US6/4mm 24" circular knitting needles Stitch...
Thank you so much for this beautiful pattern...
ReplyDeletewhen your measuring the body, do you stretch it out or leave it rolled up?
Jen thanks for the pattern. I am making it smaller by co 70 stitches. What do I knit to start my decreases instead of beginning with k6, k2tog? Thanks
ReplyDeleteJulie
I would do k8, k2tog then the next decrease round will be k7, k2tog, etc. Happy Knitting!!!

ReplyDeleteI am knitting this hat for the first time. Is the 6.5 inch’s from cast on edge measured flat or with the rolls up?
ReplyDeleteIt would be 6.5" from the co edge.
DeleteWould Fixation yarn by Cascade Yarns work as well for this pattern? If not how would I be able to adapt the pattern for this yarn? Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteHow is the ribbed brim and hat body measured, with brim rolled or open flat?
