CROCHET Sweater-a-long Summit Sweater

Sweater-a-Long Crochet the Summit Sweater

This 4 session get-together is structured to help you along and answer any questions as they come up, but it is not a class in the sense that everyone is doing the exact same thing at the same time with lectures/presentations. It's a fun social atmosphere, with the first meeting discussing the fit of the sweater. You will need to crochet a swatch before the first meeting. If you are unable to figure out the swatch on your own, you might not be quite ready for this get-together! All the details of the swatch are below! The price includes the pattern (printed and digital)

Saturday, September 26th 2026 2pm to 4pm *MANDATORY*
Saturday, October 3rd 2026 2pm to 4pm
Saturday, October 17th 2026 2pm to 4pm
Saturday, November 7th 2026 2pm to 4pm

The first meeting is MANDATORY, as we will discuss fit and gauge, after that all meetings are up to you and there are no make-up sessions available. Please remember, this is more social/accountability that it is instructional!

The Summit Sweater combines linen stitch and mosaic crochet to create a piece with a striking yoke and a stretchy/comfortable fit.

The Summit Sweater can be easily customized to a cropped length or short sleeves instead of long.

The Summit Sweater is worked seamlessly from the top, down. The neck ribbing is worked first and short rows are worked to raise the back of the neck for a comfortable fit. The mosaic yoke is created with a chart, then the body and sleeves are separated and worked from the top, down.

Techniques used in this pattern: chaining, single crochet, spike single crochet, half double crochet, slip stitch, increasing, decreasing and back loop only.

Pre-req: Must know how to crochet in the round and how to change colors.

Gathering includes emotional support from Elena, helping you with any questions that come up and the printed and digital pattern!

YOU WILL SWATCH WITH THE 6mm hook!!!

HOMEWORK BEFORE OUR FIRST MEETING:

You MUST create a gauge swatch, wash it, lay it flat to dry and bring it completely dried to our first meeting.

Pattern Gauge (this is just informational...if you don't make exact gauge you will be ok, but make sure you are somewhat close!)
18 sts & 20 rows = 10cm/4" on 6mm hook (you may need to change your hook size depending on how YOU crochet)
You will use the linen stitch for this swatch and we have written out those directions below. This stitch is very stretchy (especially over the row gauge) and needs to be pushed back together when blocking.

Instructions:
Make a slip know and place it on the hook.
Make a chain that is at least 8 inches long and an even number.
Starting in the 4th ch from the hook, place a sc. *Ch1 + skip 1 and place a sc into the next ch*. Repeat to end of chain.
(Ch2 and turn. Place a sc inot the ch1 space in between the sc from the previous row. *Ch1 + skip 1 sc and place a sc into the next ch1 space.* Repeat to end of row.)
Repeat ( ) until swatch measures roughly 6 inches.

Karen Chemo Cap 5th Anniversary Makeover

I had someone ask me about the Karen Chemo Cap Fan Stitch and I decided the video and pattern were both in need of a make-over! Especially when I noticed this year is the 5th anniversary of publishing this pattern. When my mom had chemo I made her a few different hats because honestly it felt like the only thing I could do. I designed this one just for her, and was super excited when it was her favorite! After she passed I wasn't sure I wanted to release the design, but with a little time...it felt like the right thing to do! You can download the pattern for free here (please give it a favorite over on Ravelry so that it gets a little Ravelry love!!!):  Ravelry: Karen Chemo Cap pattern by A Little Knitty Designs You can purchase the yarn we used here:  Cumulus by Juniper Moon Farm (alittleknitty.com) Here is the video if you need help with the fan stitch!

Chemo Caps - Part 2

The Gia Chemo Cap doesn't have the same sort of story behind it as the Karen Cap , but it was developed with Chemo patients in mind! Please share this pattern with anyone who would like to knit a hat for someone in need! You can download your pattern here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gia-chemo-cap

This eliminates the purl stitches looking a little funky (if you know, you know).  We decreased by 25% of the stitches about halfway through the cowl to allow the top of the cowl to be a little closer to the neck and the bottom spread over your shoulders if you want to wear it that way! We gave you little check boxes to check off as you complete repeats. **PATTERN** Using Main Color, CO92, place stitch marker and join in the round Round 1: (K2, P2) Repeat parentheses all the way around Repeat Round 1 six more times       ⃞          ⃞...
