Knitted Knockers

We are excited to announce a relaunch of our Knitted Knocker campaign!!

Six years ago we became a collection point for Knitted Knockers! During the pandemic, we weren't always able to deliver the knockers to our "adopted" oncology unit in Tacoma so we stopped advertising that we were a collection point (but the boobs did trickle in...thank you!!!). After recently meeting with the founder of the Knitted Knockers, we have a renewed passion for this cause and we need YOUR help!!! They are in need of size DD Knitted Knockers and donations to cover the cost of shipping....and we want to deliver on both!!

On Tuesday, October 10th from 5pm to 7pm stop by the shop and pick up a kit (includes yarn generously donated by our friends at Universal Yarns, stitch marker and bag) and sit and knit for a bit as we all create some Knitted Knockers (don't worry, if you don't finish in the time we have together, you can bring them back later.

PLEASE BRING US 4 or US 5 DPN OR LONG CIRCULAR FOR MAGIC LOOP!!! If you crochet, USG-4.5mm hook

We will have live demonstrations of knitting and crocheting a knitted knocker as well as printed patterns!

You must register and pay for your spot to receive a kit, but you are welcome to come by and learn more about the charity without registering! 100% of the cost of your ticket will be donated to the charity....plus we will also be donating 15% of ALL SALES THIS WEEK to Knitted Knockers!!!

You can read more about the charity HERE

Karen Chemo Cap 5th Anniversary Makeover

I had someone ask me about the Karen Chemo Cap Fan Stitch and I decided the video and pattern were both in need of a make-over! Especially when I noticed this year is the 5th anniversary of publishing this pattern. When my mom had chemo I made her a few different hats because honestly it felt like the only thing I could do. I designed this one just for her, and was super excited when it was her favorite! After she passed I wasn't sure I wanted to release the design, but with a little time...it felt like the right thing to do! You can download the pattern for free here (please give it a favorite over on Ravelry so that it gets a little Ravelry love!!!):  Ravelry: Karen Chemo Cap pattern by A Little Knitty Designs You can purchase the yarn we used here:  Cumulus by Juniper Moon Farm (alittleknitty.com) Here is the video if you need help with the fan stitch!

Chemo Caps - Part 2

The Gia Chemo Cap doesn't have the same sort of story behind it as the Karen Cap , but it was developed with Chemo patients in mind! Please share this pattern with anyone who would like to knit a hat for someone in need! You can download your pattern here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gia-chemo-cap
