What I did on my winter vacay

Kris...

So the two main projects I’m working on right now during break are first the wee Lima, baby sweater in mystical marl for a friend who had a baby and I’m sewing up another emotional chicken for my sister-in-law’s birthday, which is in January

During the break I'm working on a MKAL called Tale of the Tundra. There's both a knit and a crochet version! A clue is put out every day starting on Christmas day. Each day there's only 7-10 rounds to do which is perfect since I have gift knitting to finish still!!😜

My Christmas project is the Douglas Cardi by Andrea Mowry using Berroco Vintage Worsted

Jen...

Ok...so I brought a LOT of knitting with me on vacay....but I had different projects for different reasons.

First up is the Aurora Headband. This project was brought along because I needed an easy car knitting project that I could pickup and drop easily. I can't wait for it to be finished...it will be fun to wear! The yarn is from Nanostitch from our Alaska Cruise! This photo was captured just as we went through the woods at La Push.

I started this shawl before we left for vacay and brought it along just to finish it! I finished the knitting part of it...but it for sure needs to be blocked before it's debut. The pattern is called the Juneau Shawl and the yarn is from Fangirl Fibers. I'll be sure to share a photo after it is blocked!

I have been drooling all over this kit from Malabrigo...and for Christmas I treated myself to one! This one is really fun to knit when we are all sitting around watching movies...or when the kids are at the pool. VERY memoizable!!

Of course I didn't bring a swift and ballwinder with me....so I had to wind some yarn so I could keep working on my Anacortes Sweater. I just split for sleeves and now it's super easy to knit socially (I'll admit...this was not social knitting for me when I was still increasing for the raglan...I kept messing up!!!) This sweater is a slow going knit for me...but I'm SOOOO excited to have the finished sweater!! I'm using Rambouillet by Juniper Moon Farm

Karen Chemo Cap 5th Anniversary Makeover

I had someone ask me about the Karen Chemo Cap Fan Stitch and I decided the video and pattern were both in need of a make-over! Especially when I noticed this year is the 5th anniversary of publishing this pattern. When my mom had chemo I made her a few different hats because honestly it felt like the only thing I could do. I designed this one just for her, and was super excited when it was her favorite! After she passed I wasn't sure I wanted to release the design, but with a little time...it felt like the right thing to do! You can download the pattern for free here (please give it a favorite over on Ravelry so that it gets a little Ravelry love!!!):  Ravelry: Karen Chemo Cap pattern by A Little Knitty Designs You can purchase the yarn we used here:  Cumulus by Juniper Moon Farm (alittleknitty.com) Here is the video if you need help with the fan stitch!

Chemo Caps - Part 2

The Gia Chemo Cap doesn't have the same sort of story behind it as the Karen Cap , but it was developed with Chemo patients in mind! Please share this pattern with anyone who would like to knit a hat for someone in need! You can download your pattern here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gia-chemo-cap

This eliminates the purl stitches looking a little funky (if you know, you know).  We decreased by 25% of the stitches about halfway through the cowl to allow the top of the cowl to be a little closer to the neck and the bottom spread over your shoulders if you want to wear it that way! We gave you little check boxes to check off as you complete repeats. **PATTERN** Using Main Color, CO92, place stitch marker and join in the round Round 1: (K2, P2) Repeat parentheses all the way around Repeat Round 1 six more times       ⃞          ⃞...
