We are having such fun traveling vicariously to Japan through Kris and her husband. She is sharing such amazing photos! So I thought it would be fun to look up Japanese inspired projects in honor of Kris’s trip.
First up is Goldfish Shawl by Yuki Ueda, a Japanese designer. It’s about $3.74 on Ravelry. The edge of the shawl looks like goldfish tails! It uses lace-weight yarn so I think Juniper Moon’s Findley would be lovely!
These colorwork mittens are inspired by textiles from Japan. Kyoto Mittens by Kathy Lewinski and sells for $6 on Ravelry. They use fingering weight yarn and with all the colors I think Fluffy Fingering, Kathmandu or Shetland Lite would be amazing.
And for the crocheters out there, this designer has a lot of super cute amigurumi! Like this Japanese Curry Bear by Chloe Yuen. A bear sitting in a bowl of curry! It sells for about $5.87 and Ricorumi DK would work great for this project.
Have fun creating a little Japanese fun.
