Free Pattern...A Crochet Sweater for your Gingerbread Man Drink

Crochet Sweater for Gingerbread Man Drink

Materials:

  • Worsted Weight Yarn (we used Cascade 220 Waves)

  • US-H/5.0mm Crochet Hook

Jen’s Notes:

  • The sweater starts out crochet flat, then when you get to the neckline you join to work in the round.

**PATTERN**

Ch 40

Row 1 (RS): Hdc into the 2nd chain from hook, then Hdc into every chain until the end, turn

Row 2 (WS): Ch2, Hdc into “3rd leg” for every stitch

Now you will work across the back only (12 stitches)

Row 3: Ch2, Hdc into BLO for 12 stitches, turn

Row 4: Ch2, Hdc into the “3rd leg” for 12 stitches, turn

Row 5: Ch2, Hdc into BLO for 12 st, turn

Row 6: Ch2, Hdc into the “3rd leg” for 12 st, turn

Row 7: Ch2, Hdc into BLO for 12 st, cut yarn and pull through

Now you will skip over the stitches that will become the arm hole and reattach the yarn to create the front of the sweater.

Skip 7 stitches and reattach yarn

Repeat Rows 3-7. At the end of Row 7 you will NOT turn!!

You will now be chaining to create the top of the arm hole and will begin to crochet in the round

Round 1: Ch6, sc across the back, ch6, sc across front

Round 2: Sc around, making 6 sc across each chain space. 36 stitches

Round 3: Sl st into the 1st stitch and Ch2, Hdc around, sl st into the top of the Ch2 from the beginning of the round

Round 4: Ch2, Hdc into the FLO all the way around. Sl st into the top of the Ch2 from the beginning of the round

Cut yarn, pull through, weave in ends, sew the bottom of the sweater closed and enjoy!!

If you want to, you can do a slip stitch around the arm holes…if you are fancy like that!!

KEY

Ch - Chain

Sl St - Slip Stitch

Sc - Single Crochet

Hdc - Half Double Crochet

BLO - Back Loop Only

FLO - Front Loop Only

I love using a Half Double Crochet because it works up fast, and it has this special little “3rd leg” that you can use to make some cool stitches. Here is a photo that will help you find it!

Karen Chemo Cap 5th Anniversary Makeover

I had someone ask me about the Karen Chemo Cap Fan Stitch and I decided the video and pattern were both in need of a make-over! Especially when I noticed this year is the 5th anniversary of publishing this pattern. When my mom had chemo I made her a few different hats because honestly it felt like the only thing I could do. I designed this one just for her, and was super excited when it was her favorite! After she passed I wasn't sure I wanted to release the design, but with a little time...it felt like the right thing to do! You can download the pattern for free here (please give it a favorite over on Ravelry so that it gets a little Ravelry love!!!):  Ravelry: Karen Chemo Cap pattern by A Little Knitty Designs You can purchase the yarn we used here:  Cumulus by Juniper Moon Farm (alittleknitty.com) Here is the video if you need help with the fan stitch!

Chemo Caps - Part 2

The Gia Chemo Cap doesn't have the same sort of story behind it as the Karen Cap , but it was developed with Chemo patients in mind! Please share this pattern with anyone who would like to knit a hat for someone in need! You can download your pattern here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gia-chemo-cap

This eliminates the purl stitches looking a little funky (if you know, you know).  We decreased by 25% of the stitches about halfway through the cowl to allow the top of the cowl to be a little closer to the neck and the bottom spread over your shoulders if you want to wear it that way! We gave you little check boxes to check off as you complete repeats. **PATTERN** Using Main Color, CO92, place stitch marker and join in the round Round 1: (K2, P2) Repeat parentheses all the way around Repeat Round 1 six more times       ⃞          ⃞...
