United by Queensland

United is one of the first yarns I brought into the shop when we were super tiny...and it continues to be one of our staples!! It's a great cotton/lambswool blend that has the warmth of wool with the coolness of cotton...it's a really beautiful relationship! :) United is an 100% organic yarn, spun from organic non mulesed Lamb's Wool & Cotton, carrying a GOTS certification which requires that all stages of the production are ecologically, environmentally, and ethically sustainable. In addition, it is certified by Oeko-Tex Standard 100, guaranteeing that every component from the label to the yarn fibers are 100% safe to humans and free of harmful substances. Enjoy the springiness of baby soft wool with the softness of cotton, perfect for almost every knitting and crochet project you can imagine - perfect for the ecologically minded consumer. I discovered recently that they added some super fun colors to the offerings...so I jumped on bringing them into the shop! You can ...

A Little Knitty Podcast I love my grandma

Nydia Cardigan

A few weeks ago I shared my latest knit that I completed (ends woven in and buttons installed...who is this?????) and I wanted to share that the pattern is now live!!! I was lucky enough to test knit this beauty and I'm so glad I did! It's not a simple knit...but SO worth the effort! The biggest problem is paying attention...which is not a strong suit of mine! But once I got through the raglan increases it was easy sailing!!! It's not one I could do in a social situation or after a glass of wine, but once I got the rhythm I did enjoy it a lot. And the pattern is VERY well written!!! Pattern: Nydia Cardigan by Vanessa Smith (a local gal!!!) I used Malabrigo Arroyo in Paris Night!
