Kris' Corner - Road Trip Projects

Summer is here and school is out and lots of us are thinking about taking a road trip. So what to knit or crochet on the adventure ahead? We don’t want something too big because of space and we don’t want something hot on our laps. We also don’t want something so involved and complicated that we can’t quickly set it aside for an activity or pitstop. Here are a few project ideas using two of my favorite yarns at A Little Knitty: Ricorumi and Ciao . First is Ricorumi cotton yarn that come in a variety of colors, some are even sparkled . They are ideal for the road since they are small and very packable. This yarn would be perfect to make “Amigurumi Tik Tok Bee” by Crafting Happiness . These smiling bees are so so cute and you can crochet them in different sizes and make a bee family! The pattern is available for about $3.42 on Ravelry. Another one that caught my eye is “Fast Food Set” by Joyce Overhaul . How perfect is this to make on a road trip with the hot dog, hamburger, pizza and ta

Disrupt Magazine Story

In all the excitement of the move, I forgot to share that we got some very cool press in Disrupt Magazine! With the art form passed down through generations, picked up to occupy time, provide comfort during pregnancy, and more, knitting has been experiencing a major glow-up in recent years. Jen Reeves, owner of A Little Knitty, a store that brings to life the passion of yarn, hopes to foster a cozy atmosphere where people can come to find community and inspiration over their shared interest and love for knitting. New Inventory -Twice Sheared Sheep

Yay! Our Twice Sheared Sheep order just arrived! We had these cable locks in stock before and they were super popular!       We received them in two colors and you can find them in-store or online HERE   Cat stitch markers are so fun, but I really liked these because they can be used for knit OR crochet!! You can find these in-store or online HERE     It's probably the 80s child in me...but I got insanely excited when I discovered that there are sock rulers that are also slap bracelets!!!!     How much fun is that? The ruler stores easily in your sock knitting bag but isn't all flimsy when you need to measure your sock! You can find these sock rulers in-store or online HERE

It takes a village

I have no photographic proof of this....but packing up the yarn with so many volunteers was the coolest thing ever!!! In 90 minutes we had ALL the yarn packed and in MANY cars who then made the pilgrimage to Milton.  This was allllll the yarn...it was quite a mountain! Thank you SO much to Jason, Jessica, Paige, Amber, Christina, Sherri, Candee, Kris, Teresa, Hilde, Elena, Nolan, Piper and Brian who kicked some serious booty packing up all that yarn!!!! I would STILL be there if I did this myself! And then a huge shout out to Kris, Hilde and Elena for putting the yarn back on the shelf at the new shop.....even if we didn't have power that first day ;)   My village is amazing and I can NEVER say thank you enough to those who showed up!!

Firwood Farms

We are SOOOOO thrilled to announce that we now carry SUPER local alpaca yarn and roving!!! We are only 2.6 miles from the most amazing alpaca rescue and we are so lucky they have allowed us to be a stockist for their yarn! Please check out all the signage about these adorable animals and give the yarn a little squish! We are also hoping to join in on some of their alpaca yoga classes this summer (I have done it a few times and it is SO fun!!!)

New Shop!!

What an amazing first day at our new location!!!! It feels like home already and we hope you agree!!  There are a few things that I want to make sure I communicate and some questions that have been asked a lot so I'm sure others would love to know the answers! First, our parking lot is quirky (like myself) and may take a little getting used to. If you are coming up the hill and turning right into our parking lot, it may be easier to take the road just past the shop and use the driveway behind the building to access our parking lot. Do NOT park in the driveway behind the building and do not use any of the parking spaces behind the building!  Yes, lines will be painted on our parking lot, unfortunately it couldn't happen last week! If you cannot find parking immediately in front of our shop, you can park at Kanon Electric but we ask that you try to NOT park there Monday to Friday from 10 to 4....we love our neighbors and don't want to hog their parking! You can park along sid
