Bella Chic Photography

Meet Hailey...

I met Hailey last year and am thankful that I can consider her one of my talented friends! She is a phenomenal photographer and owner of Bella Chic Photography & Boutique  and she is now our family photographer (whether she likes it or not) because she is able to capture awesome photos like this...

And this...

And...

When the almost 2 year old was not thrilled about the process and it was COLD!!!! Hailey got it done quickly and I am beyond thrilled with the end result!

Not only is she an awesome photographer, but she has really great style and just launched a new Etsy store called Leighty Bug Boutique (named after the little baby girl that will make her debut later in the year...and might I add she is the most adorable preggo ever!)

These could not be cuter!!!

So now it's time to play a fun game of 10 questions with Hailey....and go!

1. What did you want to be when you were little? I can't really remember what I wanted to be when I was little, but I do remember thinking I wanted to be a mom! :)

2. What is your favorite ice cream flavor? If I had to choose a favorite flavor of ice cream, it would probably be Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia.

3. If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be? If I could be anywhere right now, I would be on a ride in Disneyland. Our next big vacation will definitely be Disneyland!

4. What one accessory could you never live without? I could never live without my rings and yet I think they're going to have to come off very soon due to swelling (I'm pregnant)

5. What is your favorite color? Mint and Coral at the moment.

6. What's for dinner? We're having tacos for dinner! Yum!

7. What is your favorite piece of furniture in your house? My favorite piece of furniture would have to be my most recent purchase of a vintage french provincial dresser and mirror set I bought for my daughter's nursery.

8. What is your go-to candy at the movie theater? For my once-a-year trip to the movie theater (we're homebodies) I usually skip the candy and go straight for the buttery popcorn. It's the only type of popcorn I like.

9. Are you tired of my questions yet? Not at all! Keep 'em coming!

10. What is one goal for this year? To successfully juggle a toddler and a newborn while continuing my love for photography! :)

I have many talented friends who do really awesome things...so I want to make this a frequent thing...stay tuned!!!

Karen Chemo Cap 5th Anniversary Makeover

I had someone ask me about the Karen Chemo Cap Fan Stitch and I decided the video and pattern were both in need of a make-over! Especially when I noticed this year is the 5th anniversary of publishing this pattern. When my mom had chemo I made her a few different hats because honestly it felt like the only thing I could do. I designed this one just for her, and was super excited when it was her favorite! After she passed I wasn't sure I wanted to release the design, but with a little time...it felt like the right thing to do! You can download the pattern for free here (please give it a favorite over on Ravelry so that it gets a little Ravelry love!!!):  Ravelry: Karen Chemo Cap pattern by A Little Knitty Designs You can purchase the yarn we used here:  Cumulus by Juniper Moon Farm (alittleknitty.com) Here is the video if you need help with the fan stitch!

Chemo Caps - Part 2

The Gia Chemo Cap doesn't have the same sort of story behind it as the Karen Cap , but it was developed with Chemo patients in mind! Please share this pattern with anyone who would like to knit a hat for someone in need! You can download your pattern here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gia-chemo-cap

How are you all doing with holiday gifts? Still need a few to knock out quick-like? I found these cute gifts that I think could work up fast. For the book lovers on your list, I think these cute crocheted chicken bookmarks are hilarious! Crochet Colorful Chicken Bookmark by PurrCraftedDesign . The pattern sells for $4.95 on Ravelry and calls for a sport weight cotton. The shop sells a DK cotton that would also work beautifully for these cuties - Ricorumi Another bookmark pattern is Leaf Bookmark & Garland Motif by Joey Diehl . This pattern is FREE and calls for Worsted weight yarn, so Uptown Worsted would be perfect for this. How about a sweet pocket friend for a child? This one is super basic, called Worry Pet by Blue Fox Paws and is a FREE pattern and uses any gauge yarn! It would be fun to use a textured yarn, or a fuzzy kind, but any yarn works. You can opt to put the ears on or not. We have safety eyes in the shop, too! Do you know someone who uses Airpods and could use a co...
