This knitting project is like life...

This is a dress I'm making for my daughter. I'm using rather small needles (size 4) and very thin yarn. It feels like it will never end. However, if I remain consistent and just take it one stitch at a time, before I know it, I have a row...then two rows...then lots more. For quite some time you couldn't tell what I was even doing...but I stuck with it and now you can tell! I've made a few mistakes along the way. If I go back and dwell on th, I'll get no where...so I soldier on...learning from the mistakes and trying not to focus on them. Instead I look at the thousands of perfect stitches...but sometimes it's hard to ignore the few mistakes. I'm doing the same thing countless times, but eventually when progress is made, I feel accomplished and want to work at it even more. Yes, it is a lot of work and I could take the easy way out and just buy my daughter a dress...but I'll get more pride out of finishing this one.

Knitting can teach you a lot, eh?
