Hilde's Corner

Does anyone else have Olympics fever like I do? I love watching the Olympics, especially the winter games. My favorites to watch are figure skating and speed skating, the biathlon, and cross country skiing. And anything I get a chance to see, honestly! And don’t you think this year's mascots are the cutest?  So in honor of this year's winter Olympics being held in Italy, I thought it would be fun to honor some Italian designers. These first few are sweater patterns that I absolutely love. This one is called Tata Matilda by marziasknit. I love how the colorwork switches background color in the yoke and the big flowers make me so happy. It sells for about $8.60 on Ravelry and uses a sport weight yarn. Juniper Moon’s Patagonia Organic Merino would be perfect for this sweater, and honestly might be a sweater I make very, very soon. This next sweater made me chuckle a bit, so if you’re in a slightly amusing mood this might fit the bill. It’s called The cozy crew by Annalisa Filippi...

Are you all tangled?

Last weekend Ted came into the shop to introduce himself. You see, Ted is no ordinary human. Ted is an angel sent from heaven for the yarn community.  Ted. Untangles. Yarn. Yup, you read that right. Ted loves when people give him tangled up yarn and he spends hours untangling it and putting it into cute little balls of yarn!!! If you have a need for Ted, email him at ted.tacoma@gmail.com

This sweater is called the Anacortes Pullover and was knit with Rambouillet by Juniper Moon Farm! I absolutely LOVED working with this Rambouillet wool!! It's a dream to work with and I'm excited to have it as a sweater because it is soft but I don't think it will get me too overheated (hard to tell right now as it is WET!) Here is a little bit more about the yarn.... 100% Rambouillet Merino Wool Country of origin: Italy American Wool Mulesing Free   Wrap yourself in the cloud-like softness of Rambouillet by Juniper Moon Farm. Hello from Minnesota! I flew out here to be with my mom and brother. It was still quite cold when I got here, -2 degrees as a high, but the sun was out and the sky was blue. Mom was dog sitting so it was good for me to be here to help her with that as well as other things. It was so good to see my brother, too. We've both been blown away by the support shown by so many of you. He has been able to continually help a couple of families he knows with grocery shopping, rent, and bills with money you already gave and continue to so generously donate. Without knowing how long things will continue, he hopes to use the funds already provided, as well as those that keep coming in, to continue to help in the coming months as well. He continues to donate on a weekly basis to a few other organizations that he trusts, so if you want to continue to donate to him or those groups directly, that is always appreciated! You may also want to donate to places near you as help is needed nationwide. Some...
