With the cooler temperatures and some rainy days, my mind has turned to sweaters! I am so happy it’s cool enough to be wearing them again! My mind is all about knitting them, too, and I can’t seem to stop looking at patterns. My sweater pattern list has grown and I have to remind myself that sweaters take time to knit and I can’t knit them all this season! I should be thinking of holiday knits to give, but I can’t stop thinking about sweaters. I love sweaters and I love sweater season.

Cathedral by Rachel Illsley , selling for about $8.90 on Ravelry took my breath away! It’s stunning. Looks like stained glass windows. It uses Cascade 220 Superwash Wave for the stained glass part, and I think Deluxe Worsted Superwash would be a great pairing to finish it out.

This short sleeved tee would be great for autumn, but just make the sleeves longer and you can wear it all winter. It’s called Spun Flora by Wool & Pine and sells for $8.75. It uses a DK weight yarn, and here in the shop we have a few choices that would work wonderfully. One of my new favorite yarns is Queensland’s Kathmandu DK 100 with its beautiful, rich colors. Another option is Yarn Citizen’s Harmony which has lots of color choices.

This last one is not a colorwork sweater, but looks oh-so-cozy! It’s Fiery Temper by Annamária Ötvös (11wildswans) and sells for $6.50 on Ravelry. With its cozy looking texture and turtleneck, this one would be great for snuggling into and staying warm this winter. It uses worsted weight yarn so BlueFibers Woolstok would be so lovely for this one as would Yarn Citizen’s Unity, or Malabrigo’s Rios.

Not to forget you crocheters out there! This is a crocheted cardigan called Day Date Cardigan by Jess Coppom. It’s $7.50 on Ravelry and uses DK weight yarn. Doesn’t it look snuggly? Juniper Moon’s Rambouillet yarn would be so luscious for this one. It’s squishably soft. Queensland Kathmandu DK 100 would also be a beautiful option.
I hope you join me in dreamland about sweaters. Sweaters are definitely my happy place!

Stranded colorwork sweaters seem to be my current obsession and I have seen some gorgeous patterns. My favorite pattern at the moment, and one I am determined to knit, is Ghali Sweater by Zanete Knits. It sells for about $9.50 on Ravelry and uses a sport weight yarn. I love the all-over colorwork on this beautiful pullover! I plan to use Queensland’s Patagonia Organic Merino to knit this. This yarn has quite a few lovely colors to choose from and I think will work great for colorwork.
