Hilde's Corner - Vicarious Travel

We are having such fun traveling vicariously to Japan through Kris and her husband. She is sharing such amazing photos! So I thought it would be fun to look up Japanese inspired projects in honor of Kris’s trip. First up is Goldfish Shawl by Yuki Ueda , a Japanese designer. It’s about $3.74 on Ravelry. The edge of the shawl looks like goldfish tails! It uses lace-weight yarn so I think Juniper Moon’s Findley would be lovely! These colorwork mittens are inspired by textiles from Japan. Kyoto Mittens by Kathy Lewinski and sells for $6 on Ravelry. They use fingering weight yarn and with all the colors I think Fluffy Fingering , Kathmandu or Shetland Lite  would be amazing. And for the crocheters out there, this designer has a lot of super cute amigurumi! Like this Japanese Curry Bear by Chloe Yuen . A bear sitting in a bowl of curry! It sells for about $5.87 and Ricorumi DK would work great for this project.  Have fun creating a little Japanese fun.

Now available online!!

Good news!!! Our very special PNW Yarn crawl sets, inspired by Dash Point Park, are now available in out online store!!! You can purchase these sets in-store or online HERE You can find the pattern that we created with this yarn HERE

25 one skein projects on youtube

This morning I was dinking around on YouTube and found this awesome vlog about one skein projects...I thought you might enjoy it!!! We share a lot of the same styles...so you might find our bundle over on ravelry helpful too!!

Mother's Day Yarn

I mentioned that Square Peg Yarns added a special Mother's Day colorway to the mix! The name is Spring Bouquet and it was dyed up on our Sock and DK weight base (both have nylon which makes them both great for socks!!!) Look how pretty she is all wound up!!  I immediately cast on the Intersection Cowl from All Knit Up Designs . A super simple design is great for letting a busy yarn colorway SING!!!! You can find this yarn in-store or online (Sock Weight HERE DK Weight HERE ...remember the name of the yarn is Spring Bouquet!)

And the winners are...

We had SOOOO many winners this weekend...we just wanted to give them one final shout out! Congrats to all!!! If you searched for him and he aluded you...here is where he hid all weekend...

Kris' Corner - Spring Has Sprung

May is here and our crazy weather continues to be a combo pack of sunny warm days and cold rainy ones. I find myself wearing a jacket and then shedding it moments later because I am warm. My body can’t decide if its cold or hot and I’m struggling to get comfortable. This same back and forth is going on in my knitting world as well. I just finished a winter cowl yet I’m working on a linen short sleeve sweater for Summer. Continuing on this smorgasboard theme here are a variety of patterns that have recently caught my eye. Lullaby Rain Shawl by Paula Emons-Fueslle is so pretty with its intricate pattern that reminds me of raindrops. With its top down shoulder hugging features It is perfect for those cool days or evenings over tshirt or dress. I love the romantic feminine look of this shawl. It is available on Ravelry. A great yarn for this would be Noro Sonata Another one that I love is Seaside Tee by Cheryl Mokhtari. It is also available on Ravelry. Talk about comfy! This on...
