Yarn crawl is coming! Yarn crawl is coming! And have you met our squirrel mascot Dash? Named after Dash Point State Park, he’s a little nutty about A Little Knitty, just like the rest of us here. To honor our dear little Dash we thought it would be fun to find some squirrel patterns! Most of these tend to be stuffies or stranded colorwork. If you want to make your own little Dash (don’t forget to make his little red hat!), for the knitters out there you could knit Wee Woodland Wuzzies which is a collection of woodland creatures that includes a squirrel. The collection sells for about $3.80 and uses worsted weight yarn.  Fuzzytuft Twins is one I knit a few years ago. It sells for $4.16 on Etsy. Ricorumi Solid would work for both of these patterns. A stuffie pattern for crocheters is Asher the Squirrel by Craft Gibbon for $4.25 on Ravelry. Ricorumi DK would be nice for this little guy.  Or Hygge Squirrel by Hooked by Kati that sells for $4 on Ravelry and uses worsted weight...

It is one of our favorite things to do...but we just can't wind yarn during the yarn crawl...but we have an offer for you!  We will offer Yarn Valet service during the crawl. You can choose to leave the yarn with us, and we will contact you after the crawl when your yarn is ready for pick up!!

If you have been a follower for awhile, you probably recognize the name Dear Jacki Stitchery! The owner, Jacki Donhou, used to sell her finished crochet animals in our shop when she lived here in Kent and now she has written a book!!!! We are also SOOOOO excited to announce that she is the designer of our 2024 PNW Yarn Crawl Crochet pattern!! This adorable stack of 3 marshmallows is a simple crochet pattern that is great for a beginner or seasoned crocheter. You can score this pattern for FREE during the 2024 PNW Yarn Crawl at A Little Knitty Yarn shop!  AND we are so thrilled to announce that we are now stocking her book YARN CAKE AMIGURUMI and we have a great yarn to pair with the book! Spring has sprung!  Sunny days, rainy days, hail days - typical spring weather. As much as I love seeing the sun and blue skies, however, there is something about spring that saddens me - am I the only one that feels this way? I hate to see sweater weather end.  I love sweaters. I am a sweater weather kinda gal! I love snuggling into them, I love getting warm by them, and I love making them. And now that warm weather is here, we have to say goodbye to our dearly beloved sweater wearing days. I am not usually too keen to work on sweaters during warm months, but in one way it IS a good time to work on them so by the time cool weather arrives, a new sweater might be ready to wear! I have been stuffed chicken crazy for a little bit now. I saw the adorable knit one, but decided to do a crochet one for a friend (hello, crochet goes so much faster) but then I kept seeing the knit chicken over and over again on Instagram and in person at other yarn shops. I just knew I HAD to make one! I brought in a fun new yarn called Pacific Prints just for this chicken! It stripes up SOOOO perfectly for this short row filled pattern!! We have kits available in the shop while supplies last...or you can use scraps of worsted weight yarn and create your own!! You can find this new yarn in-store or online HERE

Did you notice that one of the winners in our Facebook Group last night had a finished object that wasn't knit or crochet?? It was made with a potholder loom!!! How stinkin' cute is that???
