New-ish Yarn in the Shop - Babe100

This is another that is new-ish to the shop. I actually ordered a bag to test drive it, then put this yarn on the backburner. But with increased demand for easy care DK weight yarn...this one fit the bill!! This easy-care yarn is so soft, you might mistake it for fine wool ! Gentle next to baby's skin, but machine washable and dryable to make it one less thing for parents to worry about. We recommend this adorable dress to be knit with this yarn! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ruffle-collar-dress   Fiber Content: 55% Nylon 45% Acrylic   Yardage/Skein Weight: 356yds/100g   Weight: Sport/DK    Care: Machine washable and dryable You can purchase this yarn in-shop or online:  https://www.alittleknitty.com/shop/Yarn/DK-Weight-Yarn/p/EYB-Babe-100-x46387867.htm

You Better Swatch

I know....swatching isn't fun when we are SO excited to start knitting. But when we are creating things that we want to fit the body...it's SO important. I think what has helped me, is to create a positive association with swatching. I add a fun podcast/youtube video and some chocolate to the mix...and now I don't dread it quite so much! ;) Here are a couple videos I found that really show the importance and some great tips! Jen

New-ish Yarn in the Shop - Indulgence Handpaint

I really enjoyed knitting with this yarn....so I brought in the beautiful 100g skeins of this DK yarn! KFI Indulgence Hand Painted is a beautiful superwash Merino wool yarn with a smooth, plied construction and stunning hand-dyed colorways. This yarn is a great choice for DK weight sweaters, shawls, and accessories. Indulgence Hand Painted works up with crisp stitch definition and lends a splash of color and fun to your knit and crochet projects. Fiber Content:   100% Superwash Merino Wool Weight:   DK Gauge:   5.25-6 sts = 1" on US 5-7; 3-4.25 sc = 1" with F-7 hook Weight/Yardage:   100g/240yds Care:   Machine Wash Gentle Cold, Dry Flat Country Of Origin:   Turkey This yarn would make a cool hat when paired with a high contrasting solid color. Baskets!!!

It's been awhile since we had these awesome baskets from Big Blue Moma!! Big Blue Moma is a Canadian artisan company. The inspiration and most of the raw materials for their handmade items come from the West African country of Ghana and these baskets come directly from the country's artists and artisans and they pay fair market prices.  Both of these baskets make AWESOME yarn crafting companions...because let's face it, everything looks better in an adorable basket! These range from $27 to $34 and are available in shop only! Jen

Terra Shawl

This shawl flew off my needles SO fast!!! I'm not really a lace knitter. My happy place is garter for days so I can get lost in the rhythm of my needles, but this lace was easy to remember and ADDICTIVE!!!!! I kept saying "one more repeat" and then I was DONE!! I'm a huge fan of anything Joji designs...so I shouldn't have been shocked that I was head over heels for it!!! I used 3 skeins of Malabrigo Dos Tierras in the colorway Teal Feather. We are out of this colorway right now, but it will be back in stock within the next 10 days!
