Giving Back

This year the Auburn Downtown Association put together a drive to collect items for Seniors in Need. Our shop was one of about 10 businesses downtown who collected and it's overwhelming to hear the grand totals!! I know Auburn gets a bad wrap, I hear it a lot, but when it comes to heart...this community has it in spades! Not only were the donations impressive, but it is also so cool that this was done with pretty much no advertising. We just tossed some wreaths at local businesses, gave minimal direction and they ran with it. Business owners chatted with their customers, who really are more like family than customers. They shared information about seniors in need and the public really came through for us. Then another magical thing happened. When our customers shopped at OTHER small businesses for the items on the list, those businesses added more goodies for the seniors. THIS is why we need Main Streets and Local, Small Businesses!!! I am so proud of our community...

Things to do in Auburn

I have been noticing more and more of our Saturday shoppers are from out of town...and have been asking me for my restaurant recommendations while they are here. So, first of all, I wanted to do some research (ok...I wanted to eat out!!) and checked out the local places that are fantastic, are run by amazing families and make Auburn the perfect place to eat, drink & shop! Honestly, when I decided to add this section to the website, it was really to share with you all my favorite places to eat! ;) We have really amazing food here, we hope you enjoy it!! And we are back!

Awhile ago I left this sweet little blog behind for bigger pastures.  This year I switched my website, which gave me a lot more freedom in the design, and an amazing back office point of sale system...however the blog component wasn't what I was looking for. I dreamed of a blog that had the functionality of blogger and I kept trying out random things...until a lightbulb came on! GO BACK TO BLOGGER!!!! So here I am...back where the blog started! Hope you enjoy...more frequent blogging is coming at you! Jen

Fall is a comin'

Twice a year I feel this need to get rid of everything hanging around and organize like crazy. This takes place on the last week of the year (that week between Christmas and New Years where you aren't quite sure what to do with yourself) and the week before school starts. Guess what week this is???? The only way I describe this urge is that it's exactly like nesting, except that I can touch my toes since I'm not pregnant! So this next week I plan on going through my closet and getting rid of so much of it and taking most of my garage and donating it to charity! I feel the need to get things in order and KNIT, KNIT, KNIT!!!! Along with a pumpkin spice latte and super cheesy Hallmark movie. I'm so predictable....it's not even funny! I hope you are enjoying these last bits of summer! Jen
