Free Knitting Pattern Friday - GAP-tastic Cowl

Recently when I was chatting with someone about knitting  (shocking, that is a topic of conversation with me, huh?) Anyway, we were chatting about things we love to make and the gal said I HAD to look up this cowl. I've seen it before, but with such a glowing recommendation, I had to do a little research. This cowl is on trend, knits up fast and is perfect for the chilly days ahead. I have a minor obsession with the seed stitch (I use it in a ton of my designs, it just looks so cute and lays perfectly) Grab some Bulky Weight Yarn from  Knitpicks  (Not an affiliate link, I just adore them) You will want to order 3 balls and make sure you use code: FREE2DAY15 at checkout for FREE Two Day Shipping!! For a giggle...

Little do my students know...once they get knitting they end up making things for everyone else and buy hats for themselves at the Dollar Store! ;)  Although, among the knitting community, January is know for being "selfish knitting" month...because you just spent months making Holiday gifts and you finally want to make something for yourself! :)  So if you are a new knitter....or been doing it for years...make sure you keep yourself warm! Custom Order

Over the years I have been doing less Custom Orders as I turn my business more to designing and less to knitting finished products. However, recently I was contacted by a friend (and prior customer) to create a gift set...and she pretty much gave me creative license over the whole project...and it was SOOOOOOOO fun! I designed a mitten just for this order, one with thumbs and one without. Then I created them in different colors to match the hats. All of these hats were going to one special little man...so I just had to create a hat and name it after him! His name is Jaime! I slowly created each set and stashed them away in my "Need to sew in ends" box...so I never saw all five sets together. Once I did, I felt like it needed a little splash of red...so I'm making up a red set right now...as a surprise (hopefully he can't read this post!) ;) The top set is the Max in Linen yarn with mittens with thumbs Middle Left is the Evan in SEAHAWKS pride colors, with c

What's to come in 2016?

It's 2016!!!  I'm very excited to chat about all the fun new things that are coming this year...and there are quite a few things to report!! The 'Learn to Knit' Kits were such an amazing success in 2015, that we already sold out of the first batch of kits! I'm always sourcing the best place for yarn...and I think I've found one that will work even better for the kits AND allow you to have a little choice in what color dish cloths you will make. You will now be able to select from the 5 colors above...lots of variety for cute dishcloths! The cotton is great quality and I'm really happy with the way they are knitting up. Since I have a new supplier for the cotton, the kits are now coming with a bit more yarn than before...so I will also be sharing a link for a cute dishcloth with a heart in the middle. That pattern hasn't been released quite yet...but will be available for FREE to anyone and everyone! So here are some photos of the new k
